Hi Carolyn
I think they just start feeling so full that they don't want to eat
sometimes. I had one bitch who pregnancy made really sick - not dissimilar to
morning sickness her whole pregnancy. I took her to the vet the last 4 weeks
everyday to have her hydrated under the skin. Needless to say this was her
one and only litter of one :o) Something I found helped was also to syringe
pedialyte into their mouth - it provides hydration plus electrolytes. A bitch
of my dads is horrible during her pregnancy and would often refuse to eat - I
would grind her dry food to a powder than add water and make a thin gruel -
using a 50cc syringe I would force feed her. Finally she got so tired of me
coming at her with the syringe she started eating :o) There is nothing more
frustrating than a dog who won't eat. Good luck - most likely she will start
eating after you have spent the required $200 at the vets :o)
