Leah, you have a very practical way of putting things and frankly, I enjoy it. Thanks for the pragmatic view.
That's a great question about stethoscopes. Isn't there a special type that cardiologists use? I know there's a couple people on the list who are reasonably good listeners...hope they post about it. They are not dripping, but are very damp, I use 4-5 sheets for the bottom and same for the top. Be extremely careful!!! Ether is highly flamable and vapourizes quickly. Absolutely no open flame or heaters nearby. > >For those of you who ask how do I know it doesn't hurt. well as a 4 year old, I had my tonsils removed at the doctors clinic, they had a small surgery downstairs. This was in Toronto, a large city, but was many decades ago. They used ether. Soaked a wad of cotton, stuffed into a small strainer. Yes the little metal kind found in the kitchen drawer. I remeber all this very clearly, anyway they laid me down on the table and stuck this stinky thing over my nose and said breath in and count. Well I was barely 4 and my command of math was limited, I took a big breath >the better to protest with and was out like a light. There was no pain, no nothing. However when I woke the promise of icecream was not welcome as my poor throat hurt like heck.. > >Onto a happier subject. How many have a stethescope and are learning to identify murmurs? >Leah Swatko >Ministik Reg. >[EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________________________ woof! woof!
