she wil get real lethargic if her blood sugar drops. About 8 years ago we had one bitch whose blood sugar would drop in the middle of whelping. Karo syrup on the inside of gums brings it back up. Where she has alot of puppies and not much room for food, feed her alot of small meals and that should do the trick. Make sure she has plenty of water. Someone has already suggested using Pedialyte. That will help keep her hydrated and keep her electrolytes. You may find that she might not want alot of water also.
