I have had to ask a question like this a few times. In the middle of the night I had a puppy born whose abdomen was ripped open and the bowels all came out and the mother was treating them like an umbilical chord, another time the puppy was born with insides out not enclosed called the vet he said would not live. I had not the courage to terminate but did ask the vet the next day. He said the most humane way to end life in a newborn was to drown or put in freezer until morning and I could take in to him. I also had a German Shepherd owned by friend elderly whose spine gave out and was literally screaming in constant pain and we could not get her in car to take to the vet everyone crying and she gave dog vicodin we considered overdosing her but just gave her a dosage normal for us; Should have poured it in our mouths as well to have to endure listening to poor dog...because she could not stand to see her dearest friend in such extreme pain even for the ride to vet for anesthesia. Vet said it did not hurt anything probably worked the same on dog as us. Asked vet if there was somthing like that I could have at home as I had several elderly dogs he said no. Chere
