You can enter them with their foregin number. Once you enter them, the AKC will send you a letter saying that the dog can only be shown with that number for 30 days. With that notice, there is a form to fill out and send or fax in asking for an extension. I have done this on all of our imports stating the necessary reason as "awaiting foreign registration papers" or something of the like. Every time they have granted an additional 90 day extension. This means you would have a total of 4 months to show under the foregin number. The only problem is that you must be maticulous with your records for wins and points. I have had 5 point majors lost in the transition from foreign to AKC numbers. They will grant them to you, you just have to follow up with them.
