She should be fine, Glenn.  It sounds like she just wants to 'join the
fun' of her other house mates.  You might take a towel or other light
weight cloth to put over her crate - so she cannot SEE you - to help her
cope with the stress - and maybe give her a special toy, treat (kong
with cream cheese ?) to occupy her while you do your other class stuff.
Of course, if she is left at home while the rest of you go out will
remove the whining from the class, but I imagine she would be quite
stressed & feel left out just as much (more?) if left at home.
Personally, teaching her that it is OK & you will return / still love
her/ etc. whether she is crated at a class / show / home or left at home
alone now & then is a good thing - but it might present some challenges
to do it in a way that meets all of your needs <g>
