I know it sounds odd, but possilby MVD will separate the breed. Let me explain. Puppymillers don't check hearts, buy from other disreputable people who don't check hearts, they breed indiscriminately. eventually there will be two clearly defined lines of cavaliers. those from puppymill stock with murmurs at one year of age, and those from responsible breeders who only breed on clearances and have dogs clear for many years... So the future of the breed again lies with the responsible breeders. DOn't sell indiscriminately. Why should money hungry puppymongers succeed by your hard work? Early spay and neuter.
Boys peeing in the house... A dear friend of mine had boxers and paps, Her paps rule the roost and they all mark in the house...I can't stand it and will smell pee the minute I walk in. The old and the new... I have had males in both my breed. There have been a few honest mistakes like,, potted palm tree beside the glass doors to the deck. Aw gee mom, looked like outside, tree, dirt sky... Whats a boy to do? Pee Outside!!! It is MY HOuse when the dogs start doing dishes and vacuming, paying the phone bills and the mortgage, well then I guess they can do what they want. But untill that time I rule the roost and it is MY roost. I know that boys, especially the small dogs have a very high opinion of themselves especially when some little girl is getting friendly.
