Carol, I have a lovely club chair (with a back that reclines) and matching ottoman in leather that is shear heaven. Dog claws don't show, when things get spilled, I simply clean it with leather cleaner. I had both pieces treated before having them delivered to the house so spills mostly just sorta roll off. AND we bought the extended warrantee and if something happens it will be repaired...and that includes any messes made by animals.
