He was a beautiful dog - wasted!!

Lucy,
I want to jump on the "Gideon" bandwagon. I certainly do not think this
dog was wasted. And the last time I saw him he had ALL his teeth! There
were a few very clever breeders in the northeast part of the US that took
advantage of him. I happened to have been there when Joanne let Elaine
Lessig bring him to California. I am never the first person to defend
Joanne (and she will clearly agree) but in this instance she had no bad
intentions. She absolutely thought she was doing the right thing. She was
rather sad sending him off. I had taken advantage of him through his son Ch
Fair Oaks Rampage who is behind every lovely dog I own today. The few
people that did use him and there were not many which is certainly not
Joanne's fault, are still basing their breeding program on his background.
I always believed that Joanne sent him to someone that she felt would have a
better shot at breeding and campaigning him because she was showing her
Freddie. Very hard to show two good dogs at the same time here in the US by
the same owner. Whatever feeling you two women have for one another is not
a problem of mine. But I would like to say that dog was sent here at a time
in the US that Cavaliers were really in a state of turmoil. He
unfortunately had gotten caught in a rift once he was no longer in Joanne's
control. I am sure she has regrets about sending him away as do you. But I
am very glad that dog was here and will live on in the dogs that carry him
in their background. Linda Berman
