I'm mainly directing this to American breeders as I know the feeling abroad about spaying/neutering and this is NOT an invitation to debate. I've been asked for an opinion about spaying a 6 month old now.....or waiting till after the first season. I honestly don't know what to advise. I usually tell people to follow their vet's advice.
Most pet owners in America do not want to deal with females in heat and messy seasons. Spaying and neutering is almost an automatic given amongst pet owners. Any drawbacks to spaying prior to the first heat, or is it better to spay after the first season? I'd like some opinions. thank you....
