Hi - Well we did it! We launched our new Therapy Dog Program called CARE - Canine Assisted Resources in Education. My neighbor Jacki is a Special Ed teacher and this morning, Bentley visited the pre-K Special Needs Summer Program in Knowlton, NJ. This is in a Public School! I know it has been done elsewhere, but not around here. The teachers and therapists for these kids have been wonderful and very supportive. I just found out though (ironically) that the new Principal/Superintendent was bitten by his own dog three days ago while putting down his dinner dish. We didn't stop to visit with him.
I have 3 Cavaliers Certified to do the work and am hoping to train a 4th by the end of the summer. If anyone has questions please email me privately.
