Hello Everyone, With all the discussion of possibly reducing the number of vaccines that we give our dogs and cats, I would ask that everyone please keep in mind that in some areas Rabies is still very much a danger. This is a local article about our continuing outbreak here in Palm Beach County, Florida. So far this year 21 cases have been found.
http://www.gopbi.com/partners/pbpost/epaper/editions/thursday/local_news_d3842c14139e0103008d.html It makes me very nervous as I am in the area discussed and very rural. Our yard is fenced, but that doesn't keep out raccoons or feral cats. I watch my pets if they are outside at night, but again that won't help if saliva has been left on anything that they might pick up. We are allowed a three year rabies shot here. Does anyone know if that would offer the same protection as the yearly? Thanks in advance.
