Hi, Pam,

        That was probably me.  I did a year long trial on Red Barn and while I
found it definitely put weight on them, I didn't like the way all of the
coats looked this summer. I tried hard to blame it on the excessive
heat, but even my vet noticed and asked "what are you feeding again?".
Nothing will ever beat the home cooked diet I was feeding.  Due to a
number of difficulties, we could not keep up with producing it
ourselves.  Perhaps if things change, I'll go back to home cooking.
        However, we have changed over to Back To Basics (which NO one refuses and
which puts weight on as well so be careful if you use it), and I'll let
you know in six months if I like it.
