Actually, I think this has been, for the most part, a really interesting discussion. Yes, there has been some sniping but folks....democracy, where everyone has a voice, is ALWAYS messy. The process around writing and approving a Constitution for the United States was bitter, fierce, and vituperative. I mean, these guys went at it tooth and nail. Underneath those powdered wigs were serious fighters for what they believed in.
As the survivor of many list discussions on the Internet, the pattern is thus: 1. The first person to mention Hitler/Nazis, loses. 2. Some people will always leave in a huff because everyone isn't being "nice." 3. The people who care enough to endure and not give up will win the day. (Right or wrong doesn't enter into it.)
