>Also, the books say to buy a crate that will continue to be suitable when the dog is grown up. As I said, I have Vari-Kennels of various sizes so I could start him in a smaller one and change for a larger one later. But for the "cage" crate, I'm not sure what size to get. They're not that expensive so if I had to buy a larger one later on, I would. Should I start with a small one? What size?<
Sharon, my favorite size is the Vari-Kennel 200, which seems to work for one dog. Now since you will have more, (smile) you may want to use a 200 now and a larger one later. I think no matter what the size, cavaliers will try to fit into one crate, even if you have 10 of them. Also, I use any kind of crate I happen to have around, from a 400 on down to a 100, depending on where I am in the house or studio. I have a Central Metal whelping pen in the family room, which holds the four month old puppies at night, and while I am out, and am thinking of getting a Rover Pet pen, cause it has a nice door!!
