Hi Carol,

I thought Claudia's suggestion of going to a cat show to find a good breeder
was an excellent one! That is how my husband and I found our Blue Lynx Point
Oriental Shorthair, Toulouse. We weren't necessarily looking for this breed
in particular ,however, we liked the "orientals" in general having had a
much beloved Burmese in the past. We became quite taken with the relaxed
nature of the oriental shorthairs. In looking over oriental shorthairs from
the various catteries, we met Toulouse's breeder. She was pretty
dicriminating about who she would consider selling to which impressed us.
She had Toulouse, who she'd been considering been running on for show, for
sale. We had fallen in love with the little guy and because we lived within
four blocks of her, the breeder agreed to sell him to us (she even gave us a
discount, which we did not ask for :)) I think you are likely to see more
than one style of face amongst the Persians at a cat show, especailly as
Claudia mentioned, among the pet quality kittens being offered for sale.
Although, it is frowned upon, and often not permitted, to have puppies for
sale at a dog show, it is a perfectly acceptable thing to have kittens for
sale at a cat show. Here's hoping that you are able to help your sister
find a really nice Persian of the longer faced variety (Chinchilla persians
often have less severe faces) :)

All the best,
Susan V.
