Thank you Ginger for this valuable piece of information. As you know there has been some question about that lady who received a transfusion while waiting for an organ transplant. Apparently she got WNV from the transfusion - the CDC is watching this and has issued a warning for some extra care.
I would assume that from your post that eating a bird infected with WNV would not transmit the disease. So all we have to worry about is the killer mosquitoes - all the more reason for the mosquitoe deleto! But what it a dog is infected, no symptoms, and he bites, God forbid and never a Cavalier, someone? Just thinking out loud!
