First I think the vet will tell you to keep the dog quite...no jumping
up or down. Most of the time keeping the dog in a dog crate and giving rest
will help a lot. My vet does not believe giving buffered aspirin as it will
numb the pain and the dog will continue to injure itself. Pain is good
sometimes to force the animal to rest and not put undue pressure on the
area. If from x-rays that it is determined there is need of use of drugs the
vet will prescribe what is needed.
