This post is only vaguely dog related in as much as I have at long last come to the conclusion that I prefer my dogs to children or at least one child or should I say young man in particular!! In other words ANTHONY!!! Many in the UK will remember this particular off spring of mine at shows - locking himself in the dog cage, announcing he was lost to the ice-cream vendor and me being called over the Tannoy system to collect him when he was not half a dozen yards from where I was standing - (good way of getting a free ice-cream when mom had said he couldn't have one) Quite a pleasant little boy at times when speaking to people!! VBG Anyway this rant is not about days gone by but this week! (and it is only Tuesday!!) On Sunday I drove him back to Lancaster where he is "supposed " to be studying at University. Last night he telephoned to say he and a friend had booked a flight to have a holiday in the US and this afternoon they flew out to Chicago (watch out anyone in Chicago!!!) When asked where they were staying - a perfectly logical question I would have thought from any parent - I was informed that their plans were "fluid" but they were travelling south! Anyway sorry to rant, I suppose that all I can do is wait to see if he materialises again in two weeks time. However at the moment I definitely prefer my dogs - the odd one might fall in the river now and then or go walk about along the river bank but at least I can go and bring them back by the scruff of their necks!! I think I will go and get highlights put in my hair to cover the white hair I can feel growing by the minute!!!
