Dear Peggy, Thanks for your offer. I live in north LaVerne about three blocks from
the forest and the southern flank of the fire. Those of us in LaVerne that were
evacuated are all back at home. No homes were destroyed and the fire has moved on.
Right now the only structures that might be in the path of the fire are in Mt. Baldy
village and I understand 90 homes have been evacuated.
Several houses and cabins were destroyed in San Dimas Canyon Monday night. You
might call the Bonita High School were the Red Cross Shelter has been set up to see if
any of the homeowners have made requests for animal care.
