After years and years of no dog toy boxes, mainly because of dogs never had
too many toys (how DID I ever live that way!) I finally had to find something
to corral the toys that Callie and Paisley own. Found the perfect little
oval wicker basket with sides that are about 10" high at Ames -- on sale. It
was really funny watching Callie and Paisley pacing around in front of the
basket the first time it was piled high with their toys. Paisley was most
upset by the new monster that had swallowed her toys. After a bit, Callie
the Brave made an attack and snatched out the top toy. The rest of the night
was spent with each dog "attacking" the basket. Now they just tip it over
and root through the multitude of playthings that spill out until they find
the "right" toy...which, by the way, varies from day to day.
Can't remember who said that the house looks like pre-schoolers live
in it, but that's the perfect description.
Actually, the toys are only in the basket at night, just before
everyone goes to bed. By early morning at least two have been liberated and
taken up residence on the floor.
