Hi all, I just wanted to share with those of you in Southern CA about a wonderful way to get your dogs (and cats, if you have them) teeth professionally scaled in your own home. When my vet mentioned that one of my girls needed her teeth scaled and suggested I try the new person he was having come in once or twice a month to do this without anesthesia, I remembered the wonderful women who had provided this same sevice for CKCSC,USA Health clinics. I remembered that they provide this service either in their shop or in your home, so I told my vet I already had someone I was happy with and called Jo Ellen at "Gentle Dentle" to schedual a house call.
Jo Ellen came and cleaned my four Cavaliers teeth yesterday and their mouths look wonderful! She really went to town on their tartar build up and they now have sparkling pearly whites and the freshest breath :0) Although she is very thorough, none of my dogs held it against her and were busily giving her kisses and investigating her dental instument box as soon as their turns were completed. Their teeth are every bit as clean as when I've had the vet do them and they didn't have to be subjected to the risks of anesthesia or a vet's overhead costs (the guy who comes into my vet charges DOUBLE what I paid for the EXACT same service).
