I would like to thank everyone who sent personal messages on hearing the sudden loss of one of my girls. Linjato Who's that Girl (Jemima). I was totally overwhelmed at everyone's kindness, also my grateful thanks to Pat Allison who just stepped in and made arrangements for Humberside to go through her paypal account. I am so grateful for your help.
Jemima only displayed mild symptoms of a tummy bug by being sick on Tuesday just once, but she was a bit lethargic, I put her on a broad spectrum antibiotic just incase any nasty bug was brewing. On Thursday afternoon she was still a little sluggish, but eating her food, her temperature was not excessively high and her gums were a good colour. At 5.45pm she slumped at my feet as though she had no energy left and was breathing really laboured, I picked her up and checked her gums again and they were totally white, so rang the vet to warn them I was on my way, immediately they put her on a drip, (her temperature had dropped to 36 degrees), examined her but could feel nothing. Whilst I was taking blood samples to our local path lab they scanned her and found a Splenic tumour which had erupted and caused internal bleeding, which caused total anaemia. They tried giving her a blood transfusion in the hope that they would be able to remove the spleen provided the tumour had not spread, but alas all was too late and she just slipped away. Jem was litter sister to L. Cover Girl and mum to my L. Jamiroquai, Boyzone & L. Spice Girl. A real character who leaves a huge gap in our home. Also I would like to send my heartfelt sympathy to Ellie Mordecai as Ch. Millhill Le Monde on the same day as my dear Jem also stepped onto a rainbow. I'm sure she won't mind me posting this, I know how devastated she is too, he was a very special boy.
