Congratulations to Denise Quittmeyer ! AtLast Rock Rose, from my all
ruby "litter from hell," went WB and BOW today under Elaine Mathis for
her very last single point and is now an AKC Champion.
Roxy was sired by CH Closeburn Belmont Stakes at Brynwood, x BJ Nice
and Easy. Roxy needs one more major to be a club champion as well.
Denise, Roxy's owner and handler, deserves credit for sticking to
her guns and getting this lovely little girl made up in spite of Roxy's
determination to drop her coat before all the important shows, and other
difficulties!
This was the hard luck litter...one littermate (AtLast Lancaster)
was sold to a pet home and killed and the other, my beautiful AtLast
Moss Rose, developed a pyo without every having been bred and after a
successful spaying, now lives with Julia and Harold Hall, where she
rules the roost.
This is Denise's first owner-handled champion...her other two were
finished by professional handlers. She doesn't live where there are
many shows, and can't always travel. We are proud to have bred another
Cavalier that can finish owner-handled, without any "enhancements," and,
in this case, without much coat, either!
