Hi Rosanne I borrowed a friends set on my last litter and thought they were great. The panels measure 24 x 36. I assume the 36" is the tall when ordering. But the nice thing is that you can set them up either 36" or 24" tall - depending on the bitch you need to enclose. I put the whelper helper inside with a plastic tablecloth (or piece of laminate flooring) down to cover the tile. I found the door to be a nuisance and would just pop open a panel enclosure instead. The configuration I used that worked great for whelper helper and mom was in the back I put a 36" horizontal, then 2" panels on each side with the 36" running vertical and then a 36" horizontal in the front. When I expanded it so the puppy play pen could be in there - so mom could come and go - I added two more panels. Barb Hoorman Benchmark Cavaliers - TX
