Just a reminder though on this topic.....occasionally a prelim result will differ from the two year xray. I don't think I would have necessarily thought that it happened, but it did happen to one of our dogs. We had a boy prelimed at one year and he came back OFA good. At 26 months, we had his permanent xray done and the change in the right joint was very noticable. Very visible, and not the kind of thing you really need 3 vets to tell you. He didn't get his OFA number and was noted as having 'moderate' dysplasia in one hip. I think that the reason OFA doesn't give them permanent certification until after 24 months is because you don't always see changes in the joints until they have passed the 2 year mark. We had shown this boy and finished him in AKC......all to end up neutering him and placing him as a pet. Myra
