I can't personally speak of ClamAV's mime decoder - so I won't try to.

It's probably important here to state the purpose of ripMIME, essentially it's meant 
to try and weed out every
attachment it can, even sometimes at the expense of having to violate the much beloved 
RFC's (believe me, I would much
rather write RFC pure decoders).  I'm not sure what GMime's ability to decode 
non-standard emails are like (ie, such as
those which Nessus tests with)?

Also, ripMIME does a bit more than decoding purely at the MIME level, as it now 
decodes, TNEF and OLE (MS Office) files.
