A bootsector virus infects boot media (eg hard disks, floppy disks...), not 
motherboards.

I did not say there are no longer any viruses which infect files.

I said that if you get a file which is infected with a virus you should 
delete it and ask the sender to clean their machine and send you a good copy 
of the original file.
