Hi, I'm probably missing something simple, but I've got this problem:
I'm running p3scan (which is a pop3 virusscanning proxy) with ClamAV 0.74. 1. i know clamav works because with mailscanner it works 2. i know clamd works because interactively i can scan files using clamd and get results but with p3scan it doesn't work. the error is of p3scan is: 10.10.10.11,7/19/2004,8:04:12 AM,<29>p3scan[2069]: Connection from 10.10.10.33:2957 10.10.10.11,7/19/2004,8:04:12 AM,<29>p3scan[2069]: Real-server adress is 213.136.0.211:110 10.10.10.11,7/19/2004,8:04:12 AM,<29>p3scan[2069]: USER 'xxxxx' 10.10.10.11,7/19/2004,8:04:38 AM,<29>p3scan[2069]: WARNING: Your scanner returned neither 0 nor a viruscode, but 255 10.10.10.11,7/19/2004,8:04:38 AM,<29>p3scan[2069]: We can't say if it is a virus! So we have to give the client the mail! You should check your configuration/system 10.10.10.11,7/19/2004,8:04:39 AM,<29>p3scan[2069]: Scanner returned unexpected error code. You should check your configuration/system. 10.10.10.11,7/19/2004,8:04:39 AM,<29>p3scan[2069]: Exiting now... it's clamdscan that can't access the temporary file created by p3scan, which is logical since p3scan runs as mail, and clamd as clamav. I added clamav to the mail group. still it doesn't work and i can't understand why would it be a solution to run clamd as user mail? i don't particularly like the idea of running multiple deamons under the same account (which i violate allready with mail since it runs mailscanner with sendmail, perdition and p3scan...) any suggestions would be welcome Yours Willem Kossen ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by BEA Weblogic Workshop FREE Java Enterprise J2EE developer tools!
