As directed I have done following:
I have downloaded follwoing rpm's from binary link of
the clamav web site.
clamav-0.80-2.i386.rpm
clamav-devel-0.80-2.i386.rpm
clamav-milter-0.80-2.i386.rpm
Installed all three :
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]#rpm -i clamav-0.80-2.i386.rpm
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]#rpm -i clamav-devel-0.80-2.i386.rpm
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]#rpm -i
clamav-milter-0.80-2.i386.rpm
created user and group 'clamav' as directed in docs at
web site. edited clamd.conf "User clamav" and started
clamd demon with .
It has stared without error.
"[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# service clamd start
Starting Clam AV daemon:
[ OK ]
"
while testing clamav
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# clamscan -r -l scan.txt
clamav-0.80
gave proper results.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# clamdscan -l scan.txt clamav-0.80
connect(): No such file or directory
ERROR: Can't connect to clamd.
----------- SCAN SUMMARY -----------
Infected files: 0
Time: 0.000 sec (0 m 0 s)
Giving error again.
User 'clamav' is created as per docs.
How can it be corrected?
