My mistake, I'm using sh/bash syntax while you are using csh.

OK, this is normal, we are missing some libraries in the link command. Easy to
correct:
./configure CFLAGS="-D_XOPEN+SOURCE_EXTENDED" LDFLAGS="-lsocket -lnls"
Let's see what jumps next ;-)
