You have an easier option than installing the compiler and building clamav, you
can use YaST to install clamav, quoting from http://clamav.net/binary.html :

"Official SuSE packages for ClamAV are maintained by Reinhard Max and can be
downloaded from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/clamav There are also some
unofficial SuSE RPMs maintained by Joe Benden. You can download them at
http://www.ispservices.com/clamav.html";

You'll need the 2 packages that are listed, clamav-0.88-0.1 and
clamav-db-0.88-0.1, then do a configuration as described in the manual.
