Regarding my 1/2/07 post "freshclam failing -- error 59," I have further findings:
freshclam from another site/network is working fine, but not from the two installs I have at this site. A wget of main.cvd from the mirror works fine. I looked back in a log I keep of freshclam runs and they first started failing late on 12/31/06. We've got a web proxy here, but I've duplicated the problem outside of that proxy. Being like 6 days behind on virus definitions is an uncomfortable feeling. Since the manual wget works, can I build the database manually somehow until this is otherwise resolved?
