I think you are wrong there. Security doesn't improve market share.
Unixoid OSes have been much more secure than Windows since Windows was
born, and look at their respective market shares now.

A properly configured Linux client system is already more secure against
viruses, trojans, adware, malware, browser hijacking, rootkits and
network attacks without any of these programs than a Windows system will
ever be even with all of them. (Remember the viruses ClamAV checks for
are *Windows* viruses. A unixoid OS doesn't run ClamAV for its own
protection but for the protection of Windows clients.) Does that help
its market penetration? Not in the least.
