One has to note, that this is default behaviour that clamav prevents to scan 
larger files.

In my case I simply overlooked this default setting.
User friendly programs do not assume that the user knows every possible pitfal 
of
the settings.
I know from experience (GUI programming) that it is a certain "art" to give 
sensible
default settings.

It is not a problem as long as you use several scanners, but I have to adjust 
settings
of clamav which IS more work...
