Looks like a problem with upgrading the system assembler/linker, one
of the AIX updates introduced
a bug:
http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=46072#c25
So it looks like you need to install some more AIX updates, or try a
newer GCC (4.6?).
