I agree. Well then you two may combine your forces :-) You should
consent about the configure options. My recommendation is:

./configure \
--enable-clamd \

I strongly recommend using liblclamav. Unfortunately clamd eats up your 
memory.
BTW, it doesn't make sense using clamd anyway.
