It is very good to hear that such a support exist!
Introducing open source at the enterprise always had the
counter-argument that commercial closed source software
has support. They forget to tell, you have to pay for it,
plus the licence fees.

Should you the best of the best IT engineer, your boss 
might still want this as an assurance of his butt.

Or should your department be undermanned compared to the
amount of work it supposed to do, you might do not have
time to investigate problems.

Anyway, i think it is a milestone!
