I thought I would let you all know what's up with Aaron these days.
I am working on java.text (the parts that Wes hasn't taken) and have made
pretty good progress. I've gotten bogged down a bit with the text collation
because a) I don't really understand how it is supposed to work and b) the
documentation is poor. If anyone has insights on this, let me know. I went
to the bookstore and checked out the class library reference on it, but
entires I needed were 90% cribbed from the javadocs. I'm nibbling away at
that while I work on the other classes.
One thing I noticed is that my version of Japhar (which is pretty far out of
sync with CVS now since my cvs updates always bomb and I haven't bothered to
track down the problem) doesn't support PropertyResourceBundles. Since that
is the approach I'm taking with locale customization, this might make
testing difficult. I can test with the JDK though. Hopefully the java.lang
and java.util people will have this support in classpath done before our
release. If someone needs help with the URL parts in ClassLoader, let me
know.
Ok, time to go back to coding like a crazed weasel.
