I've switched to using JavaDeps 1.0.4. It is available from the same
place as 2.x, just a slightly different URL. It does seem to work
better. I highly recommend it, no patches required.
I've fixed the issue with specifying an alternate compiler. Actually
what this option was really for was specifying an alternate virtual
machine. I've also included the ability to specify a class library as
well. Setting these overrides the settings determined from
configuring for Japhar or Kaffe.
Stubs and header files. Someone tell me if we need these.
A local config.h. Someone tell me if they need a config.h they can
include which can have stuff like "#define HAVE_UNISTD_H 1" in it.
As a matter of principle, if you require some system function in your
code it should probably be checked for by configure. As of yet I'm
not sure what to do with these though. :) There is a place in
configure.in for them, but it doesn't really _DO_ anything to help the
programmer just yet.
Just a moment ago my compile finished. You can actually configure and
compile classpath completely! Damn. Need to fix up that make dist
and get those libraries straightened out. Btw, my glibj.zip (no
compression) is 785568 bytes with 440 classes in it.
Don't think anyone is making dependencies on Makefile given that if
you reconfigure the native stuff isn't remade. There are problems
with the configure cache not being rechecked for certain things. I
encounter it a lot and use --cache-file=/dev/null, but YMMV.
How's the Japhar thing going John?
