It looks like 1.2 will be ready by the time we finish with 1.1. Are we
going to bother with a 1.1 release?
If we are (and as far as I can tell, it looks like we are), we need to
think about how we're going to manage the two sources. Will we use
conditional compilation for some classes? Will we simply have two
completely different source trees? I think we need to think about
conditional compilation.
I have one use for conditional compilation of Java classes that I would
like to employ. I do a lot of sanity checking in the JavaBeans classes, and
that code is rather bulky. -DNO_SANITY_CHECKS would be kinda nice.
There must be some macro preprocessor out there, m4 or something (I don't
know much about m4).
