Sorry to pepper this list with this but these seem to be problems that
should be worked out to make (re)installs go easier.

Here's the next problem. I had some errors during the making process b/c I
didn't have a new-enough copy of the gdk-pixbuf libraries. I got them from
the gnome CVS but have been unable to get them compiled.  Does anyone have
any pointers?
