What about AVG 8.5? There doesn't seem to be an "updatecomps.cfg" file unless
I'm missing something...

Thanks,

I have found one way to create a custom rule, however it isn't perfect.
Some vendors have registry keys or files that contain the dat dates or
definition versions and it makes it easy to check. AVG doesn't have
that, so I did some updating here and found a file that gets modified
when a new update is pulled down. So this file will not tell you what
date your dats are, but it will tell you the last time you successfully
updated AVG.

Under Clean Access -> Clean Access Agent -> Rules -> New Check,

Check Category: File Check
Check Type: File Date
File Path: SYSTEM_PROGRAMS \AVG\AVG8\updatecomps.cfg
Operator: later than
File Date: CAM Date - (however old you will allow the definition files
to be, i.e. 3 for 3 days)
File Data Type: Modification Date
Operating System: your choice

And make sure to check "Automatically create rule based on this check".

Now, you'll have a check and an associated rule for that check. Under
Requirements -> Requirement-Rules, find what one you're currently using
for AV definition updates. Make sure to change Requirement met if: to
"any", and then check the box next to the new rule. You may have to do
this for each OS you're using.
