This has never been implemented in Solaris. One of the reasons why the IP Observability Devices component of the Clearview project aims to solve this problem is because there are lots of people (like you) who have been asking for this feature for a long time. > I am not sure my system administrators would be OK to install clearview > (this is a shared machine, I can login as root to snoop my app but not > install system patches). > > Also, is there a little document that explains how the Solaris > improvement process works ? OpenSolaris projects under development are not part of Sun's supported product called Solaris. Eventually, it's very likely that Sun will release another version of Solaris which is based on OpenSolaris, but until projects integrate into OpenSolaris, you won't see them in a Sun-supported version of Solaris. -Seb
