This will be a standard feature of the Java Desktop System. The 
technology is known as GTK+ Authorization Library and is described 
externally at http://www.nongnu.org/gksu .

The Solaris version is futher described in LSARC case 2006/348. See

A similar technology is already included in Solaris Trusted Extensions.
