Thanks.  I'll follow up with the person who made the comment to
find out his reasons for preferring this approach.  I'll also
make the change for the newly-introduced users, but unless he
has *really* compelling reasons, I don't see the need to change
dladm here.  I'll file a bug if the change seems necessary.

Follow-up will be on nwam-dev, where we've been having code
review discussions.
