Des,

That error message suggests that bono is receiving a REGISTER request on its
trusted port. It doesn't expect this to happen - only UEs (which are on the
untrusted network) should send REGISTERs to bono.

I suspect that bono is receiving the bono from the UE on the untrusted port
(5060), forwarding it on to the trusted port (5058) of what it thinks is
sprout. However, bono itself binds to port 5058, as it needs to receive
trusted messages back from sprout. As a result, bono ends up receiving the
REGISTER it intended to send to sprout, and hits this behavior.

This will require a code fix. I coded one at
https://github.com/Metaswitch/sprout/tree/allow_bono_sprout_different_trusted_ports
a few weeks back, but then heard that wherever-green-is-worn
(https://github.com/wherever-green-is-worn) had coded and tested a fix and
didn't get round to testing mine. I haven't heard back from
wherever-green-is-worn since, so I'll see if I can quickly test my fix and get
it merged.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Cheers,

Matt

Subject: [Clearwater] Client REGISTER gets 405 error

Seem to be making progress with my single server on VMWare, but hit the next
hurdle

The servers start up ok, I can get to Ellis, but when I try and register a soft
client (X-Lite) I get a 405. I had to turn debugging right up to see it. Not
sure why this is an issue. Cannot see anything immediately from the log, so was
wondering is you could have a quick look over it?

It is a restart of all the services and they all seem to come up and then I try
to register the client and get a 405

Thanks
Des Hartman
