Starsky,

Good investigation - well done finding those logs!

I think the issue here is that the DNS server configured via DHCP is
unreachable. Clearwater uses the DNS server for ENUM lookups (to resolve
directory numbers to SIP URIs).

Technically, you dialed by SIP URI rather than directory number but since very
few SIP clients actually support TEL URIs, Clearwater tries an ENUM lookup if
the username part of the SIP URI consists solely of digits. It's fine for the
ENUM lookup to return no response - in that case, Clearwater just uses the
original URI. Unfortunately, if the ENUM lookup times out, we treat this as an
error and fail the call.

Please can you check which DNS server your DHCP server is configuring, and
whether it's reachable? If the DNS server isn't reachable, please can you
either correct it, or stop the DHCP server from configuring the DNS server?

Thanks,

Matt

Subject: [Clearwater] Two online client cannot communicate to each other

Hi,

I create 2 clients and each of them can be online seperately. However, when I
tried to make a two way call, the connection doesn't success. I dig some of the
log files, here is what I found

It is client 6505550822 calling 6505550752

09-08-2013 20:57:48.012 Warning enumservice.cpp:374: Enum lookup did not
complete for user 6505550752
09-08-2013 20:57:48.313 Warning dnsresolver.cpp:236: DNS ENUM query failed for
host 2.5.7.0.5.5.5.0.5.6.e164.arpa: Timeout while contacting DNS servers

Any ideas for what I missed ? Thanks a lot.
