Hi,

I'm not sure what you're seeing I'm afraid. Are you finding that the result of
running 'hostname' changes before and after installing the Clearwater package?

We do set up a custom prompt depending on which Clearwater packages are
installed - e.g. a node with sprout installed will have [sprout] in the prompt.
We also add a value to /etc/hosts to map between the local IP of a node and the
public hostname.

Subject: [Clearwater] Installation pre/post install changes host name

Is there a reason when, manually installing from ubuntu repo, that the pre/post
install scripts in the debian packages change the hostname of the system? I
don't see what the reason would be and if there is no real reason then software
packages should not change the host name of the system.

Thanks,
