Yes, I have tried 1.3.2 – it works for me. Already not bad. :) 

As for VLC, I will try to use it as music player and music library manager 
(and everything related).

But is it possible to make 1.3.9 work *at all* on 10.13?
(Because 1.3.2 -> 1.3.9 == large gap in features)
